Well, at least this is what the researchers at the University of Oxford and Churchill Hospital in the United Kingdom have to say.
They researched and came to the conclusion that distribution of fat in the body is quite crucial. And if a female is to have fat, it is preferred that she has it down the waist on her hips. This not only lowers the risk of heart diseases but also helps prevent diabetes and other conditions linked to obesity.
They also said that having an apple-shaped body is way better than having a pear shaped body as women with belly fat have more obesity-related issues and problems than those who carry extra weight on their hips, thighs, and b*tt. So ladies, better get started with those extra squat set at the gym to tone yourself down there.
Another major factor tied to fat distribution in women is leptin. Leptin levels, crucial for regulating appetite, are correlated with a bigger b*tt too. The brain of obese women stops responding to the hormone entirely. This further causes the person to develop leptin resistance which is similar to insulin resistance.
And at last but not the least, maintaining a larger behind requires significant amounts of Omega 3 fats, which are proven to boost brain function, memory, and cognitive abilities. Huh, who’d have thought that Kim Kardashian will have more chances of living longer than Ellen Page (who is a vegetarian and clean eater, btw) ?
